I'm Riding to End AIDS

From May 31-June 6, 2009, I'm bicycling in AIDS/LifeCycle. It's a 7-day, 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to make a world of difference in the lives of people living with HIV and AIDS.

And I do mean a world of difference. The people that are affected by this disease include not only those infected, but those who care about, and for, them. AIDS has become manageable but not cured, and there are thousands of our friends and neighbors who can't afford the treatments.

I know 2008 was a record year for riders, with over 2500 plus riders, and volunteers, 600, but there was not a dry eye in the house, man, woman or child, after the announcement that this group had raised Eleven Million dollars! Stunned silence erupted into heartfelt cheers, and essentially, the ride had begun. What a rush for me, but I can only imagine how it affects the riders.

This year , I'll know for myself again how emotional this ride can be on a personal level as I am excited to participate in this event.
I am 10% of the way to my goal of $6,000.
I'm asking you to help me. I'll pedal the miles if you'll sponsor me. What can be better than that! Please give as much as you can ... $25, $50, $100, $500. You can even spread payments out over 10 months, and I humbly suggest you do just that ... $25 per month on your credit card will hardly be noticed and it will go a long way toward finding a cure and helping those in need right now.

My goal this year is to raise Six Thousand dollars and I hope you can help me achieve this goal.

Thanks for your support,

Tim Schwartz

Help me support the San Francisco AIDS Foundation by giving what you can. We'll keep riding until AIDS and HIV are a thing of the past.

Training Update
Thank you for reading the AIDS/LifeCycle Blog. I am so happy to be a part of ALC 8. I have met some wonderful people who have benifited from your donations to the SFAF (San Francisco Aids Foundation). No donation is ever to small.
Taining is going good. With my crazy schedule I try to do a 2 spin classes a week when I am home and then on Sunday I ride with Mark Smith a wonderful TRL and a few other long time ALC riders on a weekend ride.
The last ride we did was about 45ish miles. Mark never pays attention to the miles, everything is in but all we do know is that there will be hills to climb.
Hill are tough but they are a great way to get ready for Quadbuster and the Evil Twins. I will be ready for the ride as it is quickly approaching up. May 31 is the big day.
Please do not forget to donate and pass the word on about donations. The fight is not over yet.
Thank you friends for your donations. It means alot to me.

Training
Things have been going good for me. I have been riding here and there. Last weekend I did a ride with a few friends from Orinda down to Sunol. It was a great ride 70 miles, but it was HOT. Hot like in the 90's HOT. It was a great ride to do.
