Welcome to my personal fundraising page for AIDS/LifeCycle 2013. It's hard to believe, but this year marks my twelfth consecutive year raising money and awareness for the fight against HIV/AIDS and the important work of San Francisco AIDS Foundation.
Twelve years ago, HIV/AIDS was an issue I cared about deeply on a personal level. Far too many friends and loved ones had been effected. Flash forward to today, it has become my life's work. I'm proud to serve on the leadership team of San Francisco AIDS Foundation, where everyday I see the immense need that persists today.
I'm twelve years older, which means this events takes a greater physicial toll that it did when I participated in my first ride. But the most important difference between then and now is that for the first time, there's a concensus that has developed that we will see the end of HIV/AIDS in our lifetime.
Let me repeat: WE WILL SEE THE END OF HIV/AIDS IN OUR LIFETIME.
That's where you come in-- that's where ALL OF US come in. Because we can only get there together, by intensifying our efforts. We must not back down now, while we are so close to the finish line.
That's why I've signed up for my 12th consecutive ride. And that's why I'm asking you to dig deep and give generously to suppor this year's event. I'm hoping to set a new personal record in fundraising, to help San Francisco AIDS Foundation reach new heights and help us all arrive at the day when HIV/AIDS is but a distant memory.
