From June 2-8, 2013, I will join nearly 2,200 cyclists and 500 volunteer roadies, making a 545 mile trek from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise money and public awareness in the fight against HIV/AIDS.  I consider myself blessed to ride once again this year.  During the 6 years that I've participated in AIDS/LifeCycle, I've been overwhelmed by the support received from friends, family, business associates and even from people I've never met.  I'm constantly amazed by the goodness of people, and I thank each of you for your support.

Why do I continue to ride?

I ride....to honor the memory my dear friends Shane, David, Phillip and many others whose lives were tragically cut short by AIDS.

I ride....to support the work of the LA Gay and Lesbian Center.  This organization and its incredible staff work tirelessly to fight this pandemic.  They help members of our community receive the quality care and loving support they need.

I ride....with the hope that one day AIDS/LifeCycle is merely a celebratory ride, celebrating the end of the AIDS pandemic.  What an amazing ride that will be!!!

I ride....because I CAN.  Who would have thought that 24 years after testing HIV+ these skinny little legs would be able to cycle 545 miles to support a cause that is very near and dear to my heart.

To the many friends, family and colleagues who have supported the cause over these past years, thank you.  I'm incredibly grateful to you.  You are helping those affected by HIV/AIDS live a life with dignity and compassion.

With much gratitude.....

Scott
