I'm Riding to End AIDS
From June 1-7, 2014, I'm bicycling in AIDS/LifeCycle. It's a 7-day, 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to make a world of difference in the lives of people living with HIV and AIDS.
Help me support AIDS/LifeCycle by giving what you can. We'll keep riding until AIDS and HIV are a thing of the past.
I'm Riding to Challenge Myself
A few years ago my best friend, Carrie Joy Lash, started running. She currently runs half-marathons and has really inspired me to do something big and challenging. I've always loved riding my bike, be it for fun, to commute, or as part of a group like Critical Mass. Last year I watched a big group of my friends train and ride in the ALC and they too have inspired me. I'm nervous and excited to push myself to do something that is so much bigger than myself.
I'm Riding Because I Can, and Others Can't
I am riding to help those who cannot help themselves. If my riding a bike 545 miles can help feed, clothe, sooth a person living with HIV/AIDS, it's the least I can do...
If your company has a matching donation program, please specify "Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center" as the recipient and if there is a section for notes please put "ALC2014, Rider John Zuiker" in there.
I thank you in advance for helping to support me in this amazing journey. Knowing that my friends and family are backing me will make the ride mean THAT much more.
