AIDS Lifecycle - Ride to end AIDS

Here we go again, RIDING TO END AIDS!

Donate to support Thomas!

I Ride because I can, because I feel I should.

I'm Riding to End AIDS

I know what your thinking. You think; "This guy is Nutz!", well maybe I am. I'm nuts about helping people who can't help themselves, and you must be nuts too, because you're here. You found this page, so now's your chance.

I'm riding in the 8th AIDS/Lifecycle from May 31 to june 6 2009, and I need your help to raise the $3,000 minimum amount to participate. The money goes directly to services that support awareness, prevention and treatment of this horrible disease that affects people and infects people all over the State of California daily.

Since my last ride, I have been horrified by the notice of 2 more people in my personal circle that have beeen infected with HIV, and one person seriously ill and in treatment for AIDS related issues. I can't tell you how shocking it is to hear of new cases arising in this day and age, when the virus has been identified and prevention is simple and well documented.

It only goes to show how much more work we have to do- please help me do the work needed to help stop the spread of new infections, and to help those infected get the help they need.

A small donation from you is all I request, and I will ride the 545 miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles as a tribute to your help, and to make a difference in awareness for the State of California.

Thanks for coming to my page, and thanks for taking the time to donate- Tax Deductible :)

All the best,

Tommy Gaebel

Ready to Roll
I've gotten clearance to start training rides, and I'm ready to go. I have been doing what my sports-medicine therapist told me to do on the last ride, and that is 'Work out ALL muscles to support the ones you need to ride!" Since I got back from Costa Rica in July, I have had 19 weeks of consistent workouts of upper body, legs, and Cardio. I have joined a spinning class that's near my home (to cut down on excuses) and I have bought some new gear for incentive. I even had a new fitting to make sure I'm super comfortable. Now all I need is a TRL buddy, and I can start setting up rides again.
YAY! Look out ALC, here I come!
