I'm Riding to End AIDS From May 31-June 6, 2009, I'm bicycling in AIDS/LifeCycle. It's a 7-day, 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to make a world of difference in the lives of people living with HIV and AIDS. Help me support the San Francisco AIDS Foundation by giving what you can. We'll keep riding until AIDS and HIV are a thing of the past.

My new bike!
For Christmas, my generous family gave me money towards a new road bike! A few days before New years I was able to go out and get a brand new Fuji road bike! I am so excited! I just had my birthday and got almost everything I will need for my journey. I can't wait to get out there and ride! I just got my tonsils out so it's going to be a little while before I'm ready to get back out there. But I can't wait. I want to say thank you so much to all of my friends and family for their support! Thanks for all who have made donations. I still have a lot of fundraising left to do but I'm making progress! Thank you.

Starting out
I made the decision to start this endeavor when I first heard about it over the summer. I recruited my cousin to join me and we jumped on our bikes. It's started out a little slowly. We've only been on a handful of bike rides (real bike rides that is, aside from spin class) and we quickly learned that new bikes are definitely in order. Investing in a somewhat comfortable seat is a must! We also started coming up with ideas of how we are going to fund raise $3,000 each! It's going to be tough - not only raising money but also training for and actually riding that many miles. However every minute of time spent on this is well worth it and I am extremely excited!
