Team Baby Dragon is a group of cyclists and roadies from the Los Angeles area who foster the spirit of one of our friends, Hunter Allen, the original Baby Dragon, who passed away in 2008 at the hands of addiction. In the wake of Hunter's death came the establishment of The Baby Dragon Fund (www.thebabydragonfund.com) which raises money for the Mental Health Services, Crystal Meth Recovery Services and Homeless LGBT Youth Services at the L.A. This year, we have created an extension of Team Funky Monkey and formed Team Baby Dragon in the hopes that the Baby Dragon name could reach more people in need.

After a successful inaugural ride this past October, The Baby Dragon 180 Ride, in which we raised almost $90,000 for the Center, we have decided to get back on our bikes for AIDS/LifeCycle 9. It's a 7-day, 550-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to make a world of difference in the lives of people living with HIV and AIDS. Proceeds from the funds raised by Team Baby Dragon will benefit the invaluable HIV/AIDS services of the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center. This year, we hope that our efforts will continue the spirit of Team Funky Monkey who, in just three years, raised over $1,100,000 and with which we will be partnering on ALC9.
