Headwinds and Hills!
Hello Team Scotti! Headwinds and Hills...two of my FAVORITE things...NOT! Training in a headwind is almost as hard as climbing a hill...no joke! Sheesh...just when I'm all rested and carbed up for a long training ride, HEADWIND! Oh well, all in a days training I guess...the only bad part about training for the ALC is there's no bus to come pick me up when I'm 40 miles from home and don't want to ride anymore :o) LOL!
AND WHAT ABOUT THAT FUNDRAISING! I am nothing short of OVERWHELMED! If you count the personal checks I've collected (and they will post soon, I promise) we have exceeded the ALC Team Scotti goal of $10,000!!! YOU SO ABSOLUTELY AND COMPLETELY ROCK! I have the most AWESOME DONORS EVER!
Maybe we can get to $12,000! Wouldn't that be the BOMB?
Much Love Team Scotti and Keep On Donating!

WOW! You are truly AMAZING!
I cannot find the words to describe how AMAZING all of you are!!! You have contributed over $7500 for the AIDS Life Cycle this year! TEAM SCOTTI ROCKS!
And a note for those of you who have made your donation via a personal check, the process of getting checks routed to the bank, posted to the ALC database and for them to be credited / posted to my ALC webpage is taking longer than expected. Rest assured, your donations have been received and are in progress...I am following up almost daily with the ALC Donor Services Manager to make sure that things move as quickly as possible.
Thank you for your support and patience.
Keep those donations coming!

Your Donations at Work!
Many people ask why there is a minimum amount that each rider in the AIDS Life Cycle must raise to participate in the event. The $3000 required contribution covers the expense incured by the beneficiaries to coordinate and support the ride and the thousands of participants each year.
Not all of the services provided on the ALC are donated...things like permits for local law enforcement and traffic control in each of the cities that we ride through, campsites, emergency services, medical supplies and equipment, food, etc. all require funding and are based on the number of riders that are participating.
So a small portion of the required minimum contribution goes to paying for the much needed support to make the ALC a successful and SAFE event.
But even with this overhead to cover, your donations go to work immediately, providing necessary funding to the vital programs that are at the center of this event. HIV and AIDS medical services, specialty medical care, social services and teen drop-in programs (to name a few) all begin receiving financial support immediately once your donation is received.
So keep those donations rolling in and tell your friends and family about your amazing support of this critical event! We can ride, but it is your commitment and generosity that makes the ALC a success!
Much Love and Keep On Rollin'

Training for ALC2010
It has been a tough year for training. I've had a real issue with my right leg and an enormous amount of pain while riding. It has gotten progressively worse since the 2009 ALC and I've consulted 3 specialists so far.
It appears I have a inflamed discs in my L-4, L-5 region of my spine that are putting pressure on the nerves.
So far, the docs have prescribed physical therapy as a first measure to "help" the issue, but my experience so far has not been positive...I am now experiencing lower back pain in addition to leg pain.
So I've been resting up these past 6 weeks and plan to get back on the bike at the beginning of March...we'll see how it goes.
