I'm Riding to End AIDS

From May 31-June 6, 2009, I'm bicycling in AIDS/LifeCycle. It's a 7-day, 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to make a world of difference in the lives of people living with HIV and AIDS.

I have never done anything like this before, and it will be a big physical and mental challenge for me.  But I'm very excited about this opportunity to do something to support the fight against AIDS.

This is an important issue for me personally because I have collected numerous dear friends over the years who are affected by HIV/AIDS.  In the past year I also joined the board of the Boulder County AIDS Project, which has been an amazingly rewarding experience.  This ride is another part of my effort to give back to my community and be a positive force in the world.  

This ride is by far the largest AIDS fundraiser in the world. Last year cyclists raised over 12 million dollars.  Please consider donating this year. With your help, my fundraising efforts will enable the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and Pangea Global AIDS Organization to continue to provide life-saving medication to children, women and men around the world, to prevent new HIV infections, and to create bold policy initiatives.  These are some of the leading AIDS organizations in the world, and your donation will be put to a good use.

I'm working hard to prepare for this ride. Training is going well, at least when it is not snowing.  But I am committed to doing what it takes to get my body in shape for this ride.  I hope you will help me to meet the financial committment so I can take part in this amazing experience and together we can all make a difference.
