I'm Riding to End AIDS

From June 6 to June 12, 2010, I'm bicycling in AIDS/LifeCycle. It's a 7-day, 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to make a world of difference in the lives of people living with HIV and AIDS.

I'll be riding as part of Team Midnight Ridazz again.

Last year, it was a challenge to make the ride, unfortunately because of weather and traffic conditions, one part of the ride was canceled. I'm still determined to prove I can ride the entire distance but now begins my biggest challenge: Raising $3,000 to support research to combat AIDS and HIV. I know it's probably one of the worst times in our economic history but it is this uncertainty that makes it more important to raise these research funds.

I am also lucky to be part of an amazing team. It's that team experience that drew me to this ride. It's the closest I've come to re-live the best moments of my life when as a military officer we faced difficult challenges but learned how to work together in spite of any personal differences to achieve those seemingly impossible objectives. We pulled it together last year and we all made it through the ride as a team. I miss the challenges I faced in the Air Force but this is the closest I've come.

If you can help by making a donation I would be honored and truly grateful.

On my end, I'll remember your contribution as inspiration during those difficult moments during the ride.

Help me support the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center by giving what you can. We'll keep riding until AIDS and HIV are a thing of the past.
