Welcome to Tamela's AIDS/LifeCycle Homepage

From June 6-12, 2010, I'm bicycling in AIDS/LifeCycle9.  It's a 7-day, 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to make a world of difference in the lives of people living with HIV and AIDS. 

There are so many reasons why I wanted and decided to do this ride.  Since you made it to my personal page, I thought I would share a few with you.

I Support this Cause - I dedicate this ride to some dear friends...you know who you are!

I am Willing - One day I finally figured out that the only person telling me that I could never do something like this was...ME! While I am emotionally scared to attempt something like this, I am now willing to face those "musically inclined / sport challenged" stories about myself.    It's time to face a fear and live a dream.

I am Capable - Life is short!  There are those younger and older than me who are fully capable of doing this ride and...there are those younger and older than me who are NOT capable.  For the past four years I have struggled with some major neck and back issues.  Today I am pain free and feel I have a second chance to not take for granted my health and well being.  Carpe Diem!!!!  (By the way, my bike's model name is Carpe Diem - Appropriate right!)

For the Experience -  I'm not sure if there will be words to express what I will experience on this journey.  Ill keep you posted!
