Both Shoshana and I are pedaling from SF to LA to do our part towards ending the AIDS epidemic. The SF AIDS Foundation provides HIV education, testing outreach, prevention, and client services. This organization can use our help. Thanks for your donation. W

We Rode 100 Miles in 10 Hours
On this Sunday, Sho, Raphie, Glenn and I all completed the Strawberry Fields Forever Century....a ride with 6,000 feet of elevation gain. I hadn't gone this far in one day since I was 18, and a freshman in college. Our second day on the ride is 107 miles, but it is mostly flat. Now, I know we can do it. We still, however, need to raise more money and are planning a margarita party. I will keep you posted.

Big Spring Weekends
It has been beautiful cycling weather the past few weekends. Sho and I rode all the way to Watsonville, then over to Corralitos, up and over Eureka Canyon, and down Old San Jose Road. This may be hard to believe, but I prefer the uphills to the very long downhills. When momentum brings me close to 35 miles an hour, I get nervous. Yes, my brakes work, but the downhills take a very focused attention.
As far as fundraising, I have hit a plateau. If you know of anyone who might be able to contribute to the SF AIDS Foundation, please forward our letter to them. Thanks so much, Leslie

100 Mile Weekend
This weekend, Glennie and I rode both day together. Shoshana joined us on Sunday. Glenn and I rode the Mountain Charlie Challenge, an event which took us from Scotts Valley to the Summit, to Corralitos, and back to Scotts Valley. Lots of hills and beautiful blooming wisteria. On Sunday, the 3 of us did the Swanton Loop, which is up the coast past Davenport. I am feeling really motivated and happy in the saddle.

I did it! This ride had a 3,000 foot elevation gain. Yikes. Thanks so much to all of you who are encouraging me to ride.

Wow!
Over our Spring break, Shoshana and I rode over 200 miles. We went up to Pescadero and back, and also rode 100K on a supported ride in the East Bay. Northern California is so very lovely: in one day, we saw goats, crashing waves, vineyards and towering redwoods. This is a wonderful challenge for both of us. Thanks for your help.

Thanks so much for donating to this cause. Today, Shoshana and I rode 18 miles and it was a piece of cake. What a beautiful winter/spring day!
