Thank you for joining me in this cause!
I am gonna Roadie again! And this year in a new position: Sweep! I will be spending all day every day driving up and down the route and helping riders who cannot get to the next rest stop due to mecahnical or physical issues.
As most of you know, AIDS has personally affected me as lost one of my dearest friends to AIDS-related illness. I do not want this disease to take anymore lives than it already has. I feel I need to do my part to help those who are HIV positive and to educate those who are not. This event is where I have chosen to do this. This event touches the lives of people in towns along the ride. It promotes awareness to the thousands of supporters of the riders, crew and staff. (Yes, I said thousands - there are about 2000 riders on this event each year) It educates many who before the event did not know much about AIDS or HIV. It makes everyone involved in it--riders, crew, volunteers, spectators, supporters--advocates for change, for compassion, for humanity. All this while supporting the San Francisco AIDS Foundation - which not only supports people with AIDS in San Francisco, but is a huge advocate for public policy on the local and the national level.
This year, I have a small goal of raiing $2000. In 2015, AIDS Lifecycle riders and crew raised $16,675,273 and 72% of this pledge money was returned to the agencies, for the full statistics on the ride go to http://www.aidslifecycle.org/fundraising/measures.html
Please help me reach my goal by donating. Every donation is appreciated. And if your company does matching donations please let me know if there is anything I can provide you to assist with that as well. Thanks!
