It's easy to make a tax-deductible donation by clicking on the orange "Donate Now" tab to your right.
I'm reaching out to you to ask for your support in my June 2-8 AIDS/LifeCycle (ALC) bike ride from SF to LA (with up to 3,000 riders and roadies) to raise funds for the San Francisco AIDS Foundation (SFAF). ALC enables SFAF to provide lifesaving services free of charge, services such as: HIV treatment, prevention, and education; PrEP and PEP, harm reduction counseling, needle exchange, senior and youth services, and more. You can learn more about why the SFAF work remains so important by visiting www.sfaf.org.
With your generosity, I've raised a combined $84,055 in my previous nine rides. For my tenth ride I've again set a goal to raise $10,000 to support the SFAF and have made a $1,000 personal commitment. The administrative and logistical cost of putting on this major event, which raised $16.7 million in 2018, is a five-year average of 30% of total funds raised.
$10,000 will offer substance use counseling services for 250 clients/month; help HIV-positive persons receive safe and stable housing situations for one month; deliver enough Rapid HIV Antibody tests to test 400 people at SFAF sites; ensure case management for HIV-positive clients who are homeless or at-risk for homelessness; and provide 60,000 syringes through Syringe Access Services.
It's easy to make a tax-deductible donation by clicking the below link to visit my personal page, then clicking the orange "Donate Now" tab. If you prefer to write a check, you can download the donation form - my rider number is 1415 (or ask me and I'll send it directly to you).
I am so fortunate to be able to do this ride, carrying with me a list and memories of 64 friends and acquaintances I lost to AIDS in the 80's and 90's.
Thank you very much for your consideration and support.
