Dear Friend.... Here We Go Again! Embarking Together To Make A Difference!
From June 4th - June 10th, 2017, over 3,000 Cyclists, Roadies and Virtual Cyclists will be participating in AIDS/LifeCycle, a 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise funds for the life-saving services offered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center.
In 2017, more than ever -- as we experience the transition of power to the ideals of President Trump -- the good work done by the LA LGBT Center & SFAF will be crucial!
I believe greatly in the work done by both of these organizations because of the real world difference they make in the lives of those most in need in the LGBT community. The work these two centers do extends beyond international boundaries to the global LGBT community as well.
The first year that I rode, in 2008, I was unsure about my reasons for riding — I was seeking out something spiritual ... both to help myself and to help others. Now I have become a part of this community ... the depth of my involvement and passion has grown exponentially through the people that I've met and the difference that I've helped make in my efforts.
In 2013, I was a "virtual rider" — I was still there every step of the way, raising the money, flying to SF for ride out, being in Ventura on Night 6 for the candlelight vigil and greeting my friends in L.A. for ride-in. And last year, I decided to take a year off and regroup.
This year, yet again, could you help me support AIDS/LifeCycle by giving what you can? No donation is too large or too small. Give what you can, in the hopes that when each of us finds ourselves in need, we will receive that love and help back in return.
We'll all keep riding until HIV & AIDS, anti-LGBT discrimination, and racial & economic inequality, are a thing of the past.
Will you support me by making a donation today?
