I am once again returning as a Roadie for ALC2017!
After saying I was going to be taking a year off - I am back! I have been honored to set some fundraising records over the years, and I am humbled by all the support I have received. More importantly, I am glad that we have helped others in this journey. That is what I strive for, and the reason I think we are all here - to help others. This is particularly important in these surreal times of our current administration.
There are so many people in need in the Bay Area - clients who are served by the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. I am fortunate enough to have insurance, steady employment, and the support that I need. So many people do NOT have those things. I do this ride for all those people. And to remember all my friends who are no longer here - too many to list. Since they are not here to ride, I am participating for them. I don't want to take the life I have been given for granted. I have been blessed and I feel it is only right to give back.
I hope you will consider donating to me for this year's ride - it really would mean the world to me. I am going to continue to do everything I can until we don't have to do this anymore. I do believe the day is getting closer. And I REALLY want a world where kids grow up and find that HIV and AIDS are a thing of the past.
On a last note, I would like to ask you to think about the people you have lost to HIV/AIDS, or those you know who are living with HIV. You may only know one person - me. But I would like you to think of how different the world would be today if those people who have passed on were still here; or think about what those living with HIV have taught you and brought to your life. Again, that may just be me. But I would like you to keep ALL of us in your thoughts as you decide to donate.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
