Thank you for joining me in this cause!
June 2nd through June 8, over 3,000 Cyclists, Roadies and Virtual Cyclists will be participating in AIDS/LifeCycle, a 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise funds for the life-saving services offered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center. This year, I’ll be one of them!
I have been a participant and roadie for the AIDS LIFECYCLE RIDE - RIDE 545 San Francisco to Los Angeles for several years. After taking 2018 off from the event to look after my own health, the opportunity to participate has come again. I am volunteering (in a much modified capacity), with my husband and sweep partner. Sweeps follow the route and provide assistance to cyclists with mechanical or muscle failure... *wink* in addition to cheering up and cheering on weary cyclists. Roadies are not required to fundraise, but I would like to make the effort. I am asking for your support on the 2019 RIDE with a donation to the organization.
Many of you may know me by my car - the Ladybug. The Ladybug came to be because of a friend who also roadied with her husband, even while she suffered from cancer. Wilma told very few people she was sick before she died. To me, she exemplified selfless care for others and I would like to honor her efforts with a significant contribution this year.
Some of you know, my brother has been HIV positive for 33 years and the AIDS LIFECYCLE RIDE helps improve medicines and looks for a cure, not to mention provides education, prevention, and hospice care for others too ill to participate.
Donations may be made at https://www.aidslifecycle.org/ by clicking DONATE
and searching for my name Michelle Parker or participant #8391. Any support is appreciated and donations may be made until June 15 for me to get credit!
