Thanks for visiting my 2018 AIDS/LifeCycle fundraising page. In June 2018 I will be joining 3,000+ cyclists, roadies, and virtual cyclists on a 545 mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise funds for the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center. For several years now, it has been a dream of mine to participate in this ride, which will take place over June 3rd - June 9th 2018.
Over the years I have volunteered for a variety of organizations that provide support to those living with HIV/AIDS. With the development of PrEP( Pre-Exposer Prophylaxis) and PEP(Post-Exposure Prophylaxis), we now have medication that can prevent infection. A lot of advancements have also been made in regards to treatment of HIV. People who are newly diagnosed with HIV are no longer given a death sentence. They are now able to manage HIV with treatment and now have a normal life expectancy.
These advancements would not have been possible without organizations like the San Francisco AIDS Foundation.
Although we have seen incredible progress in my life to this point, it is my hope that we will soon have a vaccine or a cure for the virus.
To play my part in making that hope a reality, I've set a fundraising goal of $5,000 for the ride. As a cyclist in Northern California, all funds that I raise will go directly to the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. Donations are made available to the foundation immediately. So the sooner you donate the better. The foundation's mission is to work to end the HIV epidemic in the city where it began and eventually everywhere. The funds raised will provide access to education, preventative treatment, and ongoing care for those who are already infected.
Will you consider making a donation towards my goal?
