With a Rebel yell she cried more, more, more...more, more, more!
Yep, so this will be my 7th time riding from San Francisco to Los Angeles to support the fight to end HIV/AIDS! Crazy, I know!
Each year the ride becomes even more special to me, not only because I get to spend the entire week with my life long friends, Dele and Kris Peterson, as we (and you know the other 3000 or so people that make up this ride, all of us volunteering- the cyclist and all the roadies) try to pay it forward for a better, healthier world.
But, because in today's uncertain world it makes me more appreciative knowing how fortunate I am to have my core group of supporters-family and friends, gratetful for my health and for having healthcare, knowing that I am free to believe in whatever beliefs I choose and still be accepted. It makes me so very proud to be a part of the Aids/Lifecycle where we are all in this little city able to happily, peacefully and successfully travel down the coast of California, as one community. I truly wish that everyone would come and experience this at least once in their lifetime, to see - no, to feel how people can and do coexist.
I will be riding June 3rd - June 9th, in the 2018 AIDS/LifeCycle, so if you would like to join us please do. And of course if you are able to donate, please do: www.tofighthiv.org/goto/rebelyell2018
Please know you will not only be supporting me, but someone living with AIDS/HIV that may not have a family, or healthcare to support them.
May the increased awareness through this ride bring out the compassion I hope we all have for our fellow neighbor, may it bring tolerance and acceptance of ALL of our brothers and sisters, may it bring education to all generations, especially our younger, that we may be armed with the knowledge to PREVENT the spread of AIDS/HIV, and may it give HOPE to all those living with this disease themselves or via a loved one present or now with the stars, that in our lifetime we will find a cure.
Peace and Good Health To Us ALL,
