After taking 2018 off from the ride, I'll be riding again from June 2-8, 2019 in the annual AIDS/LifeCycle ride to end AIDS. It's a 7-day, 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles raising money to help people living with HIV and AIDS.
The ride was formerly known as the California AIDS Ride (CAR) and started in 1994. In 2002 it became the AIDS/LifeCycle ride.
It's hard to believe that 2019 will be my 5th time riding. It seems like yesterday I signed up and was scared out of my wits about the whole process. I've crossed that finish line four times now and WOW! What an amazing ride. I'm so proud to have raised over $20,000 in the last 4 years!
However there is still a huge need and I'll need your help again...
Each year I ride for my friends, Michael Bryant; KS Kim; Rio and Roger who lost their lives to AIDS many years ago. However this year I have a new name to add to the list, my very good friend Chris Zimmerman who passed on January 31, 2018. Chris's passing was so heartbreaking for me. He was definitely one of a kind in a fabulous way. I also ride for my good friend Olga's brother Tony and good friend Zima's brother Anthony who are no longer with us.
We still have so much work to do, to end this horrible disease that knows no boundaries, affecting people worldwide regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation.
So How can you help?
The best way is to make a donation and help me reach exceed blow the doors off of my fundraising goal. Your donation is tax deductible and you can donate now in 2018 and again in 2019. (see what I did there?) I hope you will dig deep in your pocket, but if you can only spare $1,000,000 I'll take that too. No amount is too small.
Pro Tip: Did you know you can pledge a larger amount and make monthly payments?
Help me support AIDS/LifeCycle by giving what you can. We'll keep riding until AIDS and HIV are a thing of the past.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you!!!
