I'm supporting the Ride to End AIDS as a Roadie this year.
From June 4 - June 10, I'll be a roadie in the Camp Store for AIDS/LifeCycle. It's a 7-day, 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to make a world of difference in the lives of people living with HIV and AIDS.
I am being a roadie for for two reasons:
1) I'm participating in honor of Jack Bier who was my closest friend until he passed away in 1991. Jack was one of the most giving men I have ever met. He had the gift to teach others to give as well. He taught me how to give and love unconditionaly. Jack guided me during the beginning of my spiritual journey. He empowered me to be my best. Jack's sister Nancy recruited me into Tupperware which was a 14 year career for me prior to Real Estate.
2) I am participating to support and to give hope to those who still suffer from HIV and AIDS. While AIDS has gone from being a fatal to a chronic disease, a cure is still needed for the millions who suffer.
In 2012, I raised $6750. In 2013, I raised $12,500. In 2014 I raised over $7,800. In 2015, I raised $8,000 in just 5 weeks. In 2016, I reaised $10,000. This year, my goal is to raise over $10,000. By doing so, I will have raised over $55,000 in six years! Funds raised go to the Los Angeles LGBT Center and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation.
Checks are payable to AIDS/LifeCycle and can be mailed to AIDS/LifeCycle, Dept. 9383, Los Angeles, CA 90084-9383. Or you can make your donation on-line by going to http://www.tofighthiv.org/goto/RealtorDave2017.
Last year, riders raised $16.3 Million! Thanks in advance for your support. Anything helps. It means a lot to me. And I'll keep participating until HIV and AIDS are a thing of the past.
