I'm FIGHTING TO END AIDS!
May 31st -June 6th I will be supporting 2500 cyclists as they bike 545 miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles to support the life-saving services offered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center, in the fight to end HIV/AIDS.
My first year with AIDS/LifeCycle I was working as an HIV test counselor. Every month I would tell gay men (usually younger that 25 years old) that they were HIV positive. Although there are incredible treatments and many with HIV will live long normal lives, it means that one's health becomes a central focus. Every 3 months, these young men need to have blood work to test for viral load levels, t-cell count, and effectiveness of medication. An HIV+ diagnosis is a life changing event, and I was part of it. It made me want to fight even harder against this epidemic. So I rode again!
Because of my success fundraising, training, and preparing others for the ride, I was hired by AIDS/LifeCycle as a Cyclist Rep last year. What this means is that I now work full time for an event and an organization that I love and that has changed my life even more than I could have dreamed!
My journey this year is quite a bit different. Instead of a 7 days on a bike, I will be working my butt off for 21 days (1 week before the ride, 1 week on ride, and 1 week after) making sure that 2500 riders have everything they need to have the same life changing experience that I did.
PLEASE DONATE $10, $25, $50, $100, or $250 or MORE to support me and this great cause! THANK YOU!
