I'M A CYCLIST TO END AIDS
I'm a Cyclist in AIDS/LifeCycle. It's a 7-day, 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to make a world of difference in the lives of people living with HIV and AIDS.
WHY DO I DO THIS?
My friend Andrew Padilla was diagnosed with AIDS when he was only 16 years old. He wasn't in the best enviroment and he wasn't the healthiest. He never wanted to fight the illness and thought that dying wouldn't be so bad. About six months before he passed he went to the Gay & Lesbian Center of Los Angeles and they helped him out as much as they could. This ride helped to pay for some of his medication, got him connected to people in his same situation and helped him to get the courage to come out to his parents. On November 3rd, 2013 my friend turned 19, and on November 6th, 2013 I lost my friend. Now I volunteer for him and raise money in his honor.I want to try to help teens and help people like Andrew.
