We can end AIDS, but until we do, we need to Ride.
I have found myself, yet again, unable to stick to my plan to "take a year off" riding the 545 miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles in aid of the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and Los Angeles LBGT Center.
HIV and AIDS doesnt ever take a back seat, but what compels me to ride again, for the fifth time, is that under-represented segments of society are under increased threat of marginalization and oppression, a reversal of the trend I have seen through out my lifetime, and I am scared.
The Los Angeles LGBT Center and San Francisco AIDS Foundation - the beneficiaries of AIDS/LifeCycle are beacons of hope for the LGBTQ+ community. Not just in the fight against HIV and AIDS, but in the protection, advocacy and advancement of our visibility, rights, protection and freedom.
Please give generously. Together we've managed to raise over $10,000 three times in the past 4 years. Can we make it 4 from 5? It's a feat I'm less confident in achieving having quit Facebook. Prove me wrong that it's an essential fundraising channel!
Almost 200 people last year supported me in supporting the amazing work pioneered in San Francisco and Los Angeles, and exported around the world.
June 2nd - June 8th 2019, along with an estimated other 2500 riders, I’ll be riding the 545-mile route from San Francisco to Los Angeles to support the life-saving services offered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center.
I feel more energised than ever about the work they do, and the services they provide so I'm committed to this event once again.
Please donate whatever you can afford. It all adds up.
It's really easy to donate a small amount each month by setting up a recurring payment. $10 a month (a couple of Starbucks coffees) starting December, and continuing through June when the ride takes place is $70!
Thanks so much for your support!
