I'm Riding to End AIDS
This will be my 4th year fundraising for AIDS/LifeCycle as a Virtual Cyclist .I have chose to fundraise again because there is still a need and I want to see an end to this pandemic.
I also want to spread awareness and breakdown the stigma that surrounds AIDS so that people will get tested, seek treatment and live a long productive life.I want people living with this disease to know that they are not alone. There are 35 million people living with HIV worldwide and we are in the 34th year of this pandemic. With your help we can continue educating people about HIV so they will know how to protect themselves and stop the spread of this disease. This ride and the money raised means the world to people seeking treatment for AIDS and HIV,and your support means the world to me!
Fourteen years ago I was involved in a motorcycle accident that left me paralyzed from my chest down.I realized very quickly how fragile life is.I feel as if I got a second chance at life and believe those living with HIV and AIDS deserve a second chance as well.I know we can never prevent spinal cord injuries because there will always be tragic accidents that cause them. But we can prevent the spread of HIV and AIDS through education and AIDS prevention.Together we can make HIV and AIDS a thing of the past.
A good friend of mine has been HIV positive since 1994.He is living proof that if you take the proper meds you can live a long and productive life.
