I'M A ROADIE COORDINATOR TO END AIDS
ALC 2019 will be my SIXTH year of participating in this life-changing event! The first 3 years I did the Ride I rode the 545 miles and now 2019 will be my third year participating as Staff on the event working with our Roadies and Volunteers. I am the Northern California Roadie Coordinator and I work during the Ride to support the many Roadies and volunteers that make this ride possible.
I love this cause and this community. And it's amazing to see what happens when you get a bunch of amazing people working for a common cause. We call it the Love Bubble and it's my hope that one day the whole world can be like that one magical week in June. A huge aspect of AIDS/Lifecycle is eliminating stigma against AIDS and HIV. So, make eye contact, let the world know you're a PERSON and they will pay attention.
Every year I have dedicated my ride in the memory of John Nichols. John lived a safe life and he had the unfortunate circumstance of contracting AIDS from a blood transfusion. My father was his caregiver for 3 years. I was around 7 years old when John passed away, this man, around the same age as my father, died too far before his time.
Help me support AIDS/LifeCycle by giving what you can. I will keep riding, roadieing, and working until AIDS and HIV are a thing of the past.
My Personal Web Log
In the past few weeks I crossed my 2 year mark of working with AIDS/LifeCycle! It is crazy to think that coming up this February, I've been connected to this Ride for 5 years. I'm grateful to the friend who introduced me to the event because without him I wouldn't know half the people I do today and I definitely wouldn't be working here!
