Dear Friends and Family,
After taking last year off from AIDS LifeCycle, I am back in the saddle training my buns off to raise money and awareness for the services provided by the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center. I have made a commitment this year to make a conscious effort to give back to my community and directly help those who suffer.
This is why in June 2019 I will join 1500 other riders on a 7-day, 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise money and awareness for HIV and AIDS services. As the number of people living with HIV increases, so does the need for the services provided by the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center, the two agencies producing this event. These organizations fund a wide range of STD testing, as well. HIV is more contagious when STDs are present, so sexual health is important to stopping the epidemic. Also, it’s important for me to note that addiction and new infections go hand in hand, so treating addiction is also part of the services funded through AIDS/LifeCycle.
This year I have decided to make my journey more interactive by capturing stories while training, fundraising and participating in social activities with my fellow riders. When I am riding, the motivation that pushes me forward, one pedal push-pull after another, is knowing I am riding WITH everyone as a shared experience. I am witness to so many inspirational stories that I want to be able to share with all of you. Stay tuned!
Thank you for being part of this incredible journey of health, love and acceptance.
