In the past 11 years living in the bay area, I have seen how HIV/AIDS impact my community, their families and friends, and strangers all over the world. Many have lost loved ones in this battle. This is not a group of individuals' battle, not just the LGBT community's battle, this is a battle of our society and a battle that we have to win.
Before signing up for AIDS/LifeCycle, my longest bike ride was just 13 miles from home to work. 545 miles in 7 days is a huge challenge for me. I am excited for this challenge and enjoy the beautiful scenery a bike ride away from the city. I fell in love with the Marin Headlands during my training and in May, I did a solo, 6-day, 468 miles ride from Paris to Toulouse. I think I am ready to take and enjoy this challange!
I have kickstarted my campaign by making $4000 donation myself which makes $8000 after Google's gift match. The fundraising requirement is just $3000 so I am not asking for your donation so that I can participate this ride; I am asking your kindness and donation to support this cause to end HIV/AIDS.
No donation is too small. And if your company has a gift match program, please add a note in your gift match to direct it to my fundraising campaign. "For Yu Wu's ALC19 campaign. Participant number: 3775."
