Last year, I participated in AIDS/LifeCycle, raising over $13,000 for the San Francisco AIDS foundation AND conquering my phobia of riding bicycles. I pushed myself past my physical and mental limits while training, I raised more money than I've every raised before, I wrote, produced, and performed a song cycle about my experience training, I worked events in my skivvies selling sugary shots to already drunk bar patrons, I got through the ride and rode farther and faster than I've ever ridden before and I achieved a sense of accomplishment and pride that I never thought possible.
This year, I'd love to kick it up a notch on the ride itself. Unfortunately, my work schedule conflicts with the ride this year. I will not be riding from SF to LA this coming June. HOWEVER, I have agreed to co-captain my beloved team, The Pedal Pups, and I am participating as a virtual cyclist. My fundraising goal is $3000 this year, and I know we can do it!
