When a friend told me about AIDS/LifeCycle, I thought it was an absolutely incredible idea...for other people. There was absolutely no way that I could ride 545 miles from SF to LA in 7 days. That's just crazy! Right?!
Well, my friend, she's a smart one and began telling me stories about her previous rides, then started to introduce me to people in the community. I fell in love with the people, their passion and cycling. As a new rider, I started to feel the "Love Bubble" everyone talks about.
Only a few months into this new sport, I'm amazed at the fantastic friends I've made, the opporunities it has opened up and very proud of the progress I'm making physically while cycling. I've still got a long way to go in my training, but I'm getting better everyday and determined to make it a life long activity.
My goal is to ride every single mile and to raise $3,000. It's a big goal, but I'm up for the challenge.
I'll be documenting my progress, so check back for more updates! Please consider helping out with this great cause. Any little bit helps!
Aubrey Howell | AIDS/LifeCycle Rider #3682
June 5th - June 11th, over 3,000 Cyclists, Roadies and Virtual Cyclists will be participating in AIDS/LifeCycle, a 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise funds for the life-saving services offered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center. This year, I’ll be one of them!
The services provided as a result of this event mean the world to those who receive them, and your support means the world to me.
We’re working together to make HIV/AIDS a thing of the past. Will you support me by making a donation today?
