This year has been full of ups and downs and lots of laughs and lots of sadness. Through the hardship of my disease. I have realized that addiction. Like HIV has to be medicated daily. If I don’t take my medication I am very much likely to acquire AIDS and eventually die. So is my disease of addiction. I treat this daily now with meetings, support groups, working with my sponsor, and the steps.
I am grateful that the center has a program for addicts and alcoholics, just like they have been working tirelessly to provide services for HIV.
HIV and addiction go hand in hand. So I ride to help those in an out of the rooms of recovery and also for those who are afraid to get tested. I ride to help those in need of services that otherwise can’t be given unless you have private insurance. I ride for me and every other addict that has faced HIV and feels like there is no hope.
There is hope and it starts with willingness to try.
I am willing to fight for my life.
Are you willing to help me save many more?
