Thank you for joining me in this cause!
Many of you know that in 2017 I joined the Board of San Francisco AIDS Foundation. It is an extraordinary organization with a goal of ending the HIV epidemic in the city where it began, and eventually everywhere. We are focused on the radical reduction of new infections in San Francisco, because we refuse to accept HIV as inevitable. Through education, advocacy and direct services for prevention and care, we are confronting HIV in communities most vulnerable to the disease.
As a Board member, I am always trying to find ways to contribute to the Foundation.
And this year, I will be doing the AIDS/Lifecycle Ride. You read that right!! I will be riding from San Francisco to Los Angeles.
7 days / 545 miles.
Why am I riding?
I am riding to support the work of the Foundation.
I am riding to honor all of the HIV/AIDS caregivers worldwide.
I am riding to raise funds for life-saving services and to be part of a community creating solutions with love instead of fear.
I am riding to prove to myself that the last 6 years on a SoulCycle bike has gotten me ready to get on the road make it the whole way.
I am incredibly lucky that two of my besties - Kathleen Dinetz and Gary Boston - are doing this ride with me. That will hopefully make the hills a little more bearable!!
My goal is to raise $20,000 on the ride, and I would love for any and all of you to help in any way you can. Seriously - everything counts. The ride benefits the work of San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the LA LGBT Center.
