Thank you for joining me in this cause!
June 2nd - June 8th, over 3,000 Cyclists, Roadies and Virtual Cyclists will be participating in AIDS/LifeCycle, a 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise funds for the life-saving services offered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center. This year, I’ll be one of them!
I truly feel that improving the quality of life for other people is one of the most rewarding things I can do. I am very excited to have this opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people in the SF LGBT community.
Traditionally, the LGBT and HIV/AIDS communities have experienced stigma, prejudice, and a system that works hard to invalidate them as people and makes it hard to get medical care and community services. Now is the time for that to change.
Trump and his team are hostile to groups affected by HIV/AIDS, and together they work towards destroying policies and programs that would protect LGBT's health, well being, and basic human rights. Now, more than ever, is a crucial time to work to support communities like LALGBT and SFAF.
I have set a first year fundraising goal of $10,000. Will you sponsor me for $54.50 -- just 10 cents per mile? Though the goal is aggressive, I'm sure I can hit it with help from friends, family, and corporate donation matching. Please attribute all matches to Participant #4034!! Your company doesn't have a matching program? Contact me and I'll help you get paired with someone who does! All donations are greatly appreciated and tax deductible.
Let's do our best to help this cause -- let's make HIV/AIDS a thing of the past!
