Miles Ward’s Quest to Raise Over $100,000 to Fight HIV and AIDS
Thank you so much for visiting my fundraising page! My name is Miles Ward, a 31 year old teacher based in Houston, Texas. A recent HIV diagnosis shook my world, but once I picked myself up I realized that I have only two options; Give up or fight...
So, I chose to fight!
I’m gearing up to participate in the AIDS LifeCycle; a 545 mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles this June. I am dreaming big as I vow to raise over $100,000 to fight HIV and AIDS. Will you please consider donating?
It's also time to educate the masses and to end stigma. Everything below is something I've personally dealt with on at least one occasion.
"So when is Miles going to die?" "Oh my god! You have AIDS?" "I'm sorry, Miles, but I just don't feel comfortable dating you. I'm really sorry." "::sobs uncontrollably upon hearing the news::"
On behalf of all those who have died, suffered, or have struggled with this disease somehow, it has become a personal mission of mine to be a part of ending this thing once and for all, and I thank you all for reading my story and being a part of my journey.
if you’ve made a donation online, please consider whether or not your company will match the donation! Click the link below and find out! All checks must have my name and participant number (2947) on them. Thanks a million!
