When asked how my first AIDS LifeCycle Ride was, I responded “I rode every mile, I registered for 2019 and I am still processing the rest.”
There was a lot for me to process.
I completed the 551 mile ride after not believing I could complete my first 40-mile training ride. I met hundreds of new friends when I initially believed I was too shy or awkward and would have no one to eat meals with. I raised over $36K when I doubted I could raise the minimum $3K. The Universe puts in front of me exactly what I need to learn most and the AIDS LifeCycle was a miraculous opportunity for me to grow, expand and dare I say even transform. I learned I was so much stronger than I ever imagined, physically, mentally and emotionally. I learned the joy of facilitating a significant donation to an amazing organization that can really make a difference.
This year, I am challenging myself again. I have decided to focus my energies around helping others to train and prepare to successfully participate in the 2019 AIDS LifeCycle As part of that intention, I have joined the sober biking team, The Trudging Buddies. I am excited to help those new to recovery and/or new to the ride to experience the pride and joy of being something much greater than ourselves. I am thrilled to be of service to help others have their own life changing experience of participating in the AIDS LifeCycle. My intention is to worry less about who wants to eat dinner with me as it is looking out for those who are seeking help, encouragement and support.
Will you please join me on this next leg of my journey? I am humbled and grateful that in 2018, with the generous and loving support of family and friends, I raised $36K for the LA LGBT Center. This year I have set my target at $40K. Will you please help me reach that ambitious goal by making a donation?
Please remember that no amount is too small - any amount is deeply appreciated even if its only $10 or $20. However dont hesitate to give $1000 if that makes sense for you!!! I am infinitely grateful for all the support, both monetary and emotional, that so many wonderful people have shown me on this journey.
