I rode for the first time last year and I must say -- it still is one of the most profound and life-changing experiences of my life, next to my sobriety. The amount of hardwork by AIDS/Lifecyle riders, volunteers and organizers to realize this annual bike ride is so awe-inspiring and altruistic. Which is one of the very reasons I ride again on June 2-8, 2019 from San Francisco to Los Angeles, braving the same 545-mile distance, the same treacherous terrains and nasty hills on a stifling summer heat, coupled with cold ocean/mountain breeze and gusty winds throughout the day.
This ride is a very physically challenging cause and I am very grateful to be a part of it because it has transformed me to be more selfless and giving and to find meaning and purpose in the things that I do.
Yes, indeed, I ride for those who can't. I ride for everyone who shares the same aspiration of erasing the stigma that continues to pain those affected by AIDS/HIV whose hopes and dreams are shattered and whose families remain vulnerable.
I ride because the money we raise shall provide continuing free services to AIDS/HIV victims -- some of whom are very dear to me. I ride because I have a moral obligation to my community and to the world. I ride because I am with my fellow Trudging Buddies who share the same passion and reason on why we ride.
Your donation today of any amount means you and I are riding together. With your support, you delegate unto me the part where I need to keep pedaling all the way to the finish line. And I intend to do just that.
Please remember that when we ride together, we rise together from the continuing onslaught of AIDS/HIV in our modern society and really make it a thing of the past.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOVE AND SUPPORT!
