I am all signed up to ride my bike ***545 miles*** from San Francisco to Los Angeles next year with the AIDS/LifeCycle 2019.
June 2 - June 8th, I and 3,000 Cyclists, Roadies and Virtual Cyclists will be making our way down the coast for a cause.
I am daunted by this undertaking! But, let's do this!
All of the money riders (me) and support roadies raise goes to benefit the LGBT Center in Los Angeles as well as HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment for those who need it.
The more I learn about the past and present of HIV/AIDS, the more I am shocked by my ignorance of the huge impact it has had on all of us, and the more I am humbled by the incredible people who are affected and who DO something about it.
I have set my fundraising goal at $5,500. I have a long way to go and I hope you will join me in reaching this goal.
I love bikes, but I have never been a cyclist. Why did I decide to do this?
AWESOME PHYSICAL CHALLENGE, AWESOME COMMUNITY
I hope to become stronger, leaner, fitter, more resilient.
Plus, I am excited to now be a part of a community of people who commit themselves to this amazing physical feat because they care so deeply about others, especially the LGBT community and those who have been impacted by HIV/AIDS.
From mountains to beaches, plains to rivers, farms to factories, I am eager to take the chance to see it while I have the chance.
LEARNING FROM THE LOVE BUBBLE
I can't wait to see how one of the most well-organized events in the country is run, especially because it is a safe and loving event for LGBT, women, and people of color. More please!
I can’t wait to look back and tell the story of how WE made this happen. Please donate to this cause.
Jomaira Trujillo, my #1 human and partner in action, introduced me to this ride. She’s riding for a second year. Please consider donating to her campaign as well: http://www.tofighthiv.org/goto/jomaira
