Hello, and thank you for visiting my Aids Life Cycle fundraiser page. My name is Miguel Torres and I am choosing to take action against HIV and AIDS now, thank you for joining me in this cause!
With your help, I will be able to:
- Participate in a 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise funds for the life-saving services offered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center.
- Fundraise for comprehensive sexual health services, including HIV and STD tests, treatment, education, and couseling
- Contribute towards a full year of laboratory testing
- Promote free condoms!
We’re working together to make HIV/AIDS treatable and preventable.
What motivated me to participate in the Aids Life Cycle?
This year I experienced two unexpected losses. During a conversation with a family member, we discussed the loss of a loved one can feel like a missed opportunity to do something. We always say “we could have done more”, “I should have said something”, “we all saw this coming.” I don’t want to continue having these conversation. I want my participation in this event to be a form of action.
By participating in the 545 mile ride, I will be representing the South East LA folks who may not have access to screenings and treatment. I am advocating the latino community, who remains vulnerable to HIV/AIDS. I am advocating for my community, which remains the largest population living with HIV/AIDS. Let's beat the stigma and represent our community through support!
How will I achieve this goal?
With your help. You support will motivate me and encourage me to push the limit when I'm training.
Once again, thank you for your consideration.
