What am I doing?
I'm cycling a long, long, long way. It's a 7-day, 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to make a world of difference in the lives of people living with HIV and AIDS while educating the communities we travel through (prevent, erase stigma & raise awareness).
To kick off my ride and show my committment (beyond the 1000miles of training and riding 545 miles in June isn't enought), I made the first donation.
Why am I doing it?
I saw this on my first ALC ride and it has stuck with me and become part of who I am: "Be the change that you wish to see in the world." - Gandhi
So, what can you do?
Be a part of the change. You don't have to ride. I'll do that part. Donate. It's easy. It adds up.
1. you can specify whatever amount you want $5 or $50 or even $500.
2. you can also split that donation into monthly payments ($50 divided by 5 months is only $10/mo). It's easy and only takes a minute to do it. :)
Be a part of the change and help save lives while showing me your support.
MATCHING GIFTS REMINDER: Many companies offer matching gifts for your donation! Please use Federal Tax ID Tax ID# 95-3567895 (SF AIDS Foundation) for matching gifts and designate "LifeCycle - Danny Baker #4738." Please feel free to reach out to me for any other information you may need.
In addition, all gifts are tax-deductible. All donors will receive a letter/email of acknowledgement for tax purposes.
My Personal Web Log
I've had such an amazing training season. My team has been a lot of fun as I lead our own training rides. It's taught me patience and reminded me of presence. This year we are going to have a blast with the huge team.
Thank you everyone who has donated and shown me support. I've now raised over $30k in the 6 years I've been riding. We are making a huge difference as we help prolong lives as the world gets closer to seeing a cure. One day you and I can look back and say "I helped do that. I helped save millions of lives." Pretty cool, I think.
