In 1998, I signed up for my first ride and within a few weeks, my partner tested positive for HIV.
The Los Angels Gay and Lesbian center provided free testing for me, medicine for my partner, and mental health services to help get us through this difficult time. After my first ride, I realized the money I had raised hadn't even come close to the cost of the services we were given, so I signed up for another ride, and then another, and another. At a time when others were riding in the memory of those they had lost, I was riding to keep those that I love alive and well.
I've ridden 11 rides since 1998 and I will ride as many as it takes to help pay for the services and medicine that the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center provides for my community.Won't you help me raise the money to do this?
I need to raise $3,500 in order to participate in this event for my lucky dozen- and I need your help.
Please give whatever you can. It's easy and your donation is Tax free. You can do it right here, online.
THANK YOU for your help- it means the world to me, and those I know and love living with AIDS/HIV.
May the road let me ride, until they find a cure, until I'm no longer needed, until my body gives out. Whichever comes first.
Help me support AIDS/LifeCycle by giving what you can. We'll keep riding until AIDS and HIV are a thing of the past.
