Thank you for joining me in this cause!
June 2017 I’ll be participating for the third time in AIDS/LifeCycle, a 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to support the life-saving services offered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the L. A. Gay & Lesbian Center. This bike ride means the world to those who receive treatment as a result of this event, and your support means the world to me.
Fundraising these past two years taught me a lot about the generosity of my friends, family, and complete strangers. All of you who donated have my gratitude for all you did to help me get through the seven day journey, and for the help you've provided to the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center. I raised over $22,000 the past two years, money that helped AIDS/LifeCycle reach a grand total of over $16.1M last year. Over 75% of that will go toward life-changing services provided by the two benefiting agencies.
More than 100 people donated to my fundraising effort in amounts from $5 to $545. I appreciate each and every donation, and the love and support that you gave me throughout my training and the ride itself.
The ride this year taught me a few things about myself. I pushed myself harder than I ever have, feeling even more athletic than last year. I found that I was pretty good at cycling, riding amongst the faster riders each day of the ride. I better understand what real athletes endure: the pain; the feeling of accomplishment; and the feeling of being able to push a little bit harder to reach your goals.
I look forward to training again for ALC 2017, the 16th anniversary of the ride! Please dig deep and make a donation to my ride. It'll be great to have you in my corner.
