From June 2-8, 2013, I'm bicycling in AIDS/LifeCycle. It's a 7-day, 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to make a world of difference in the lives of people living with HIV and AIDS.
I'm riding because I believe in helping others, and I believe in a cure. I'm riding for the storytellers and writers who died and for the stories that went untold. I'm riding so we can tell new stories. And I want to make a difference.
Please help me support AIDS/LifeCycle by giving what you can. You can give now on this site, or contact me directly to discuss options, money-per-mile monthly donations, and other alternative forms of showing your support. Be sure to check with your employer about matching donations.
One of the beneficiaries of the event is the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center, which is a groundbreaking institution that has worked tirelessly in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Here's where many of your dollars will go:
The LA Gay & Lesbian Center is committed in the next 12 months to:
1. Providing 35,000 HIV and STD tests
2. Providing STD treatment to at least 7,500 people
3. Providing ongoing medical care to 2600 HIV patients in the Jeffrey Goodman Special Care Clinic
4. Bringing 750 additional HIV infected people into treatment as a result of our clinic expansion
5. Serving as a leader in L.A. County?s target reduction of 25% in the HIV infection rate before the
end of 2015
I'll update this page throughout the year so you can track my progress and learn how your contribution is helping to fund life-saving programs at both the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center & the San Francisco AIDS Foundation.
Thank you so much for your support.

New Year's Eve Fundraising Challenge
I can't believe how close we are to 5K - let's get there today! Thank you already to Gerry, Amelia and Dan for your contributions today.
When I signed up for the ride in August, my original fundraising goal was $3,000. We blew past that this fall, so I raised it to $5,450 (545 miles/$10 per mile), and now we're quickly approaching that goal as well.
All this is to say: we've raised close to $5,000 and we still have 5 months to go before the ride. I'm amazed.
If we reach 5K by midnight tonight, I will commit to raising my total goal to 10K for the year.
All donations are fully tax-deductible.
Who can help push us over the edge and encourage me to raise my goal to 10K??
Happy New Year to everyone. I wish you all a happy, healthy and transformative 2013!
